As Scotland's capital, Edinburgh is well served by national & international transport. The University is in the historic Old Town, 0.7 miles (1.1 km) south of the central train station (Edinburgh Waverley). Most places within Edinburgh are within walking distance of both the rail station and the university.

Travel by Rail
All trains stop at the city centre Edinburgh Waverley Station, and some stop additionally at Edinburgh Haymarket, in the west end, further from the conference site. For comprehensive train information check the national rail website.
Trains from London Kings Cross leave hourly and take approx 4.5 hours. If traveling from London, buy your ticket well in advance for the best price. Average return tickets from London cost approx £100.
Trains from Glasgow leave every half hour from Queens St Station and some additional trains also leave from Glasgow Central. Travel time is approx 50mins.
It takes about 15 mins to walk from Waverley station to the conference site. Taxis cost about £7.

Travel by Plane
Airlink 100 buses connect the airport to the city centre. They can be found at the bus terminal outside the airport terminal and they run every 10 minutes. Return fare is £6 and travel time to Waverley is under 30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased on the bus.
Taxis directly from the airport to the city centre or the workshop location will cost between £22-30.
